Cookies
Bestått.no uses cookies to:
- Ensure that the service works technically correctly
- Keep you signed in and remember your preferences
- Understand how the site is used, so we can improve it (statistics)
- Measure how well our ads work (marketing)
You can manage and delete cookies yourself via the settings in your browser, or change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Rejecting optional cookies never affects your ability to sign in or use the service.
Necessary cookies
These are required for the service to work and are always active:
- Sign-in and session (access_token, refresh_token) — keep you signed in securely between visits.
- Language (NEXT_LOCALE) — remembers whether you use the site in Norwegian or English.
- Your cookie choice (_ba_consent) — remembers what you answered in the cookie banner, for up to 12 months, so we don't have to ask on every visit.
- Payment — our payment provider, Nets, sets cookies during checkout to process your payment securely.
- Security and delivery — our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) may set a cookie (__cf_bm) to protect the site against automated abuse.
Statistics cookies (optional)
If you accept statistics cookies, we load Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which set cookies (_ga and similar, stored for up to 2 years) to help us understand how the site is used — for example which pages are visited, how many start a practice test, and where people drop off.
This data is processed by Google on our behalf. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no such cookies are set.
Marketing cookies (optional)
If you accept marketing cookies, we load the Meta pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Facebook and Instagram). It sets cookies on Bestått.no (for example _fbp and _fbc, usually stored for 90 days). If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta can recognise you.
The pixel tells Meta which pages you visit, and when you sign up or make a purchase. Our server also tells Meta when you sign up or make a purchase. Meta uses this to measure which ads work and to show you relevant ads. Our privacy policy lists the data we send. Meta describes its own cookies here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policies/cookies/
If you decline, the pixel is not loaded and our server sends nothing to Meta. If you withdraw your consent later, we stop sending. Cookies that are already set can be deleted in your browser.
Changes
If we start using new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and ask for your consent again through the cookie banner.
